Hospitals and other healthcare providers (HCPs) find it necessary, on a daily basis, to refer patients for behavioral health needs. When the healthcare systems struggle with access to behavioral health providers, lack of understanding of the behavioral health system, lack of knowledge about available resources, or inconsistent communication and language, the referral process becomes largely inefficient.

The COS offers additional features, such as secure messaging, geo-mapping (allowing for selection of a provider close to home), and the ability to track metrics, including provider referral acceptance and show rate. While it is true e-referral systems have been around for a while, the COS offers new technology designed to assist health care providers with population health management through risk stratification and matching, allowing for improved overall performance. Functioning as a plug-in, the COS is easy to use and offers simple connection with existing systems without the need for mass integration.
